Analysing my peers pitches provided useful insight into the varying approaches that are available to the subject and our DA. I am a visual learner, understanding things better when I have visual cues forming a more detailed insight. Peoples pitches were well formatted, cleverly constructed to appropriately explain and define their motives and ethnographic approaches.
When I provided feedback, I loosely referred to the criteria, in hindsight I should’ve provided a more detailed commentary to my peers. I did notice each one payed close attention to their ethnographic approach, their methods and timeline in which they would be completing their DA’s and research. Each was within the time-limit and utilised the 250 word limit of the contextual blog post, adding all necessary components required for their pitch.
One of my comments I should have screenshotted when I wrote it as it was pending for confirmation from the owner of the blog.
Nonetheless, I have learnt that critically analysing other works provides useful reference points and interesting viewpoints to interpret. Its a learning experience working with the rubric to adapt to my niche, but also acknowledging other’s perspectives and how they understand the rubric to suit their own projects.
Coming into my beta I hope to have improved on this skill, becoming more acquainted with the layout and function of our niche’s, taking on feedback given to me and forming more detailed analysis and commentary on other’s works.
